I'm Katie. I speak hair. 'Nough said.
But for real... I graduated from a Paul Mitchell cosmetology school in 2013 with honors in cutting, color, & texture. After 3 years of working for a large salon, I discovered that I work best when flying solo. Katie K Hair studio opened it's doors in April of 2016. It's a cozy, private space for you to relax while I work my magic ...I am a hair wizard after all.

For Starters
Every service begins with a comprehensive consultation. We'll start with a conversation to get to know each other. It's kind of like a first date for me and your hair! So many questions! What cut fits your face shape? What colors match your skin tone? Curly or straight? Up or down? Spray or gel? ...or spray gel! We need to be on the same page before we dive in.
Cut
I love cutting hair for men, women & kiddos! Any cut, any style. Whether you want to maintain your signature look, experiment with a new, drastic style, or even experience the journey of growing it out, I've got you covered. I only use the highest quality tools and products to make you look your best.
Color
Whether you only need to cover grey, make a bold statement, or anything in between, your hair color defines your look. It immediately shows your personality and makes you shine. Your hair is my canvas, the color is my paint. From roots to all-over color and highlights, or anything you can imagine, each service is a unique work of art.
Treatments
Treat yo self.
For dry or itchy scalps, I offer an invigorating Tea Tree scalp treatment that leaves you feeling fresh and tingly!
For dry unruly hair, I have a number of solutions: from standard deep conditioning to Brazilian Blowout smoothing.
Event Styling
One thing you won't need to worry about on your big day is your hair. Weddings, dances, galas or whatever your special event, you will look and feel like a queen. Up-dos, half-up styles, braids, all down, or anything you can dream up on Pinterest, just show me a picture and I'll make it a reality!
Custom Requests
Theatre hair and makeup, makeup for your big day, halloween makeup, custom costumes, photo shoot styling, Santa styling, custom hair extensions, custom accessories, and so much more. Shoot me a text with any other questions about your unique needs. I love taking on something new!
Cut
Choose your Haircut Service based on your desired finished length. Every Haircut Service includes a wash with scalp massage and a blow-dried style.
Short Cut: $50
This would include "Pixi" styles, anything done primarily with the clipper, or any haircut style in which the finished length does not fall below the ears.
Medium Cut: $60
This would include anything in the "Bob" category. This is any haircut in which the finished length falls between the bottom of the ears and the top of the shoulders.
Long Cut: $75
This is any haircut in which the finished length falls between the tops of the shoulders and the mid-back/waist-line.
Extra Long Cut: $90
This is any haircut in shich the finished length falls anywhere below the mid-back/waistline.
Baby/Toddler Cut: $40
We all know that babies and very small children usually have a hard time adjusting to the life experience of getting their hair cut. I strongly believe in a calm, gentle, non-traumatizing approach to cutting your little one's hair. Whether it's their first time to the salon, or for the first few years, as long as they need that ultra chill appointment, I prefer to book a little extra time so that we can all just focus on the haircut and not feel pressured about the time.

***PRICES VARY due to length and thickness of hair, determined by amount of time and color needed.
***ADDITIONAL COLOR NEEDED: Each color service includes the first bowl of 1 color (Double Processes include the first bowl of color or lightener at each step). Each additional bowl of color adds $40 to the service total.
***FOR VIVID COLORS: Add $20 for every bowl of vivid color used. (i.e. the first bowl of vivid color used adds $20 to the service total and each additional bowl after that adds $60 to the service total)

Add this to any Double Process or Highlight Color Service when you want Vivid Color as your end result. This add-on includes the additional price for the first bowl of vivid color as well as the base price of a sealing treatment to ensure that your vivid color stays locked in with no fading for months

Add this to any Color Service when dark synthetic color needs to be removed before beginning with a color service

Policies
These policies have been carefully designed to protect my time and energy, and to support my family.
Required Card on File
A credit or debit card is required to book your appointment. The card will never be charged unless the customer no-shows, or cancels the appointment inside of 24 hours prior to the start of the scheduled appointment; whether confirmed or not.
Cancellations
Any cancellation, re-schedule, or no-show inside of 24 hours prior to the start of the scheduled appointment will result in the card on file being charged the full amount of the starting price of the selected service(s). To cancel an appointment earlier than the 24 hours prior, please use the link in your confirmation text to cancel through Square. To cancel an appointment inside of the 24 hours prior to the appointment, please text Katie directly: 414.588.2752.
Refunds & Re-Dos
Every situation is case-by-case at Katie's discretion. My policy has 2 categories:
- When the end result does not look like what was agreed upon due to an error on Katie's part, she takes full payment up front and schedules a re-do for free. If after the re-do, Katie is still unable to produce the original desired look, and the client no longer feels comfortable allowing her to attempt it again, at that point all or most of the payment would be refunded.
- When the end result produced is exactly what was asked for, but the client changed their mind after seeing it done, there will be no refund.
Additionally, if the client is not using the home care products recommend by Katie, she does not guarantee any amount time for their color to last. If the client follows Katie's recommended home care protocols and the client experiences a catastrophic change to their color within the first 1-2 weeks, please contact Katie with details. In most cases a new appointment is scheduled to allow Katie to re-do all or part of the service at no or very little cost.
KATIE, THE SERVICE PROVIDER/BUSINESS OWNER, RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MAKE THE FINAL JUDGEMENT CALL ABOUT ANY SITUATION. ONCE THE SERVICE HAS BEGUN, THERE IS NO GUARANTEE OF REFUND REGARDLESS OF THE SITUATION.
KATIE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE TO PERFORM ANY SERVICE FOR ANY REASON.
